We welcome support for our endeavors to raise money for charities in the Conejo Valley. We accept donations to directly support the charity of your choice and also offer sponsorship opportunities at our annual Gingerbread Boutique or Spring Fundraisers. The WVJ’s are pleased to support the following three major charities in the year 2016-2017:
Conejo Free Clinic Mammogram Fund:
The Conejo Free Clinic provides free mammograms, biopsies, and linkage to follow-up care to uninsured and underinsured women in our community. Find out more here. To make a safe, secure $35 donation to fund a mammogram use the PayPal link here.
Cancer Support Community VVSB Kids Circle and Teen Program:
The Cancer Support Community (formerly the Wellness Community) offers education, resources and support to individuals with cancer and families who have a loved one with cancer. The Kids Circle provides group support and art therapy to children, teens, and families affected by cancer in order to foster emotional health, wellbeing, communication, and coping skills. A $35 donation pays for one hour of support/education/counseling for a child who has cancer or whose parent has been diagnosed with cancer.Find out more here. Many Mansions Homework Tutoring Club:
Many Mansions provides housing for low income, homeless, and disabled individuals and families with children in our community. The Homework Tutoring Club is an after school tutoring club that keeps children supported in their schooling and encourages reading skills, future education, Friday activities, and career preparation. A $35 donation pays for a new backpack, classroom supplies, after school snack, or one day of summer camp for a child in need.Find out more here. Other programs that will be supported by WVJ’s include the Homeless shelter and Community Holiday Dinner offered by Temple Adat Elohim and the Meal & Shelter Program for homeless persons at Westminster Presbyterian Church/Lutheran Social Services.
